about us
GDP&Co represents the life of a passionate
songwriter, and the name intends to convey recognition that many friends
and associates have played vital roles in the songwriting skills of GDP,
or Gregory D. Putnam. Among these who have had the greatest impact,
include but are not limited to the following musicians and/or friends:
-
Patrik Sheridan
- Mobey Hill
- Richard Teegarden
- Randy Jones
GDP&Co. also includes and has relied on very talented
singers, including:
- Chris Krause – a true gentleman who will be in
Nashville soon
- Lori Franke – an absolute wonderful singer and
performer with promise
- Brandon Howard – another singer destined for
great possibilities
Among all these cohorts, GDP has been extremely
fortunate.
Many, many more people could be included, but few
want to read long lists of unfamiliar names. The greater point being
that no one makes it on his/her own, however much some may think they
do. This comment is not to say that individual determination,
persistence, and fortitude don’t count, because they do. But others
count just as much!
Currently, GDP&Co. resides just a little beyond
Normal, as in Normal, Illinois, which is located in Central Illinois.
GDP writes most of the lyrics, and he strums melody lines, given that he
isn’t interested in becoming a musician. He is good enough at guitar to
get across an idea for a melody, but he passes along music composition
to others, such as the gifted and talented Patrik Sheridan, who
currently writes with GDP.
We are interested in selling songs and working with
singers who may be in a position to reach a national audience. Our songs
range between simple guitar/vocal and piano/vocal to 5-instrument
productions. We believe that some songs stand on their own, while many
offer room for interpretation. Really, all songs do. We also write for
male, female, and duets.
Anyone interested performer can buy interests in our
songs, while we will always retain a fair share of each song, wherever
any may go. We can also write for certain performers. Send us a story
you want to sing a song about, in any genre. For these songs, we either
sell it to you, while retaining a smaller percentage or sign a
future-sales agreement as co-owners of copyright.
Please give us a listen! We will sincerely appreciate
it, because music is really all about the audience and really not about
the performer, however confused we become about it. Music lives on! |
