about us
GDP
& Co represents the life of a passionate songwriter, and the name
intends to convey recognition that many friends and associates have
played vital roles in helping develop the songwriting skills of GDP, or
me--Gregory D. Putnam. Among those who have had the greatest impact,
include but are not limited to the following musicians and/or friends:
* Patrik Sheridan (good friend and main co-writer!)
* Mobey Hill
* George Gubbins
* Erik Nelson
* Randy Jones
GDP & Co also includes and has relied on very talented singers,
including:
* Chris Krause – a true gentleman who will be in Nashville soon
* Anjanel Folkens - a rising star in new/contemporary gospel and
contemporary country (www.anjanel.net)
* Ashleigh Morrissey – an absolute wonderful singer and performer with
promise
* Brandon Howard – another great singer who is living the life of a
loving father with a lovely wife (who sings as well) and 2 young
children
* Amy Howard - Amy is a wonderful singer, whose mom is a music teacher
at a local school, and she is the aforementioned wife of Brandon Howard.

Come Dance!
With input from all these conspiring cohorts, I have been extremely
fortunate.
Many, many more people could be included, but few want to read long
lists of unfamiliar names. The greater point being that no one makes it
on his/her own, however much some may think they do. This comment is not
to say that individual determination, persistence, and fortitude don’t
count, because they do. But others count just as much!
Currently, I reside just a little beyond Normal, as in Normal, Illinois,
which is located in Central Illinois, where I live with my loving wife
and daughter. I write the lyrics and strum melody lines on occasion,
given that I am not interested in becoming a musician or performer.
Instead, I rely on extremely talented friends as music composers,
especially Patrik Sheridan, who has co-written over 40 songs with me.
Pat is a creative genius!
I have been extremely lucky to also work with Erik Nelson (www.eclipsestudios.net),
who has co-written 2 songs (A Woman Knows &
I Love for This). Recently,
I enjoyed the honor of combining Pat's and Erik's talents on the same
song (This Puzzle), with both as co-writers.
We're interested in selling songs and working with singers who may be in
a position to reach a national audience. Our songs range between simple
guitar/vocal and piano/vocal to 5-instrument productions. We believe
that some songs stand on their own, while many offer room for
interpretation. Really, all songs do. We also write for male, female,
and duets.
Any interested performer can buy interests in our songs, while we
will always retain a fair share of each song, wherever any may go. We
can also write for certain performers. Send us a story you want to sing
a song about, in any genre. For these songs, we either sell it to you,
while retaining a smaller percentage or sign a future-sales agreement as
co-owners of copyright.
Finally, I want to convey deepest love and gratitude to my mother and
the rest of my supportive family. My mother is over 80 years old and still
attends concerts and clubs, due to her deep love for music!!! She is
quite a lady and a blessing to all those her life touches!!
Please give us a listen! We will sincerely appreciate it, because music
is all about the audience and not the performer, however confused we
become about it.
Music lives on!
